Rebecca Salvadori is a London-based video artist with a long experience of filming environments following a non-hierarchical/chronological layering and sequencing of audio to footage.

Her video production includes music videos, visual performances, short documentaries and portraits of artists aiming to subvert the dominant technologies. Salavdori’s work focuses on the nature of digital images and their impact in terms of reception. Most of her videos take the form of visual compositions based on accidental discoveries. Thanks to slow production processes, the artist tries to free from the mechanical approach often associated with contemporary audiovisual forms made from digital images. The combinations never repeat; the arrhythmic evolving movements attempt to break free from a mechanical, predetermined outcome. 

 

Emptiness Eurtour is a series of visual compositions presenting animated shapes and colors, associated with abstract, almost cosmic sounds, assembled together according to constantly evolving combinations of intentionalities. This collection of video fragment is once again based on random explorations of the film medium, which here become the tool to discover and create. Born from a personal desire for “emptiness”: emptiness of meaning, emptiness of desire, of thoughts, perspectives etc. Emptiness Eurotour is the artist’s idiogrammatic method to question vision overload and information excess with a desire to part from this mass consumerism of thoughts and achieve a kind of silence.
